There are lots of things you need to think of before setting on for a journey in the cruises ship which are as follows:

Leave Valuables At Home

If you were silly enough to bring valuables with you, lock them in the ship's safe. Put your cash, passports, tickets and jewelry in there too. Use your cabin safe for everyday items, but nothing valuable. Too many crewmembers know how to open those safes.

Watching what you eat makes sense. Enjoy the variety of food but if you have food allergies don't ignore them just because you're on vacation. Water onboard is probably fine but order bottled water on shore.

Watching what you drink also makes a lot of sense. The drinks are flowing onboard and the temptation is to never refuse one. Getting drunk onboard can lead to poor judgment, or even falling overboard! There are big propellers down there and there may be sharks in the water. People who drink too much and then go walking alone in the dark are asking for trouble.

Don't Flash Your Money

You may find cruise ship gambling enjoyable and you may win some serious cash. If you do, remember that lots of people are watching. Don't draw attention to your winnings in or outside the casino.

While crewmembers are there to make the ship run smoothly, for cruise safety and for you to enjoy your cruise, remember that they perceive you as being rich. Don't provide anyone with an opportunity to take your money. Don't leave valuable items on display in the cabin when you're not in it. Certainly never visit the crew's quarters.

If you see anything suspicious on board report it to cruise security or the purser's office. Whether it's a crewmember lurking near your cabin, or a passenger stalking teenagers, if they look suspicious their motives may not be pure.

When on shore watch out for taxicab scams and the like. Negotiate fees before you leave in a cab. In many cultures you are expected to haggle over the price of items on sale. In those situations, don't pay the posted price.

Keep your wits about and you won't have any issues with cruise ship security. The cruise ship crew is there to serve you and are usually, conscientious, hard-working and honest. Bon voyage!
