The Most Excellent Cruise Packing Tips

The right things you need to carry when you are about to travel on the cruise is as follows:

Bring Email Addresses

Bring your email addresses with you as well, as ships now have Internet lounges. An email along with a digital photo is the modern day postcard; so don't forget the digital camera.

So, what else do you need in the way of cruise clothing? Here's a sense of what to bring on a cruise.

As far as travel documents go, make sure you have your plane tickets and cruise documents. You will need your passport, and possibly a visa. For some cruises vaccination certificates are required. In case you want to rent a car, bring your driver's license and insurance card.

Have three copies of all these documents and pack one in your carry-on, one in your checked luggage and leave one with someone at home. Pack your medical insurance card and a copy of any medications you are taking. If you don't bring your driver's license bring a photo ID.

Bring an ATM card and pre-paid phone card and cash or traveler's checks. Bring any emergency numbers you may need, plus your watch and wallet.

Two Pairs of Reading Glasses

Don't forget your glasses or contacts and contact cleaner. An extra set of reading glasses is a good precaution and don't forget sunglasses. Remember you will be reading on deck, so bring sunglasses you can read with. Guidebooks, a foreign language dictionary and maps are needed, plus sufficient reading material. You may want to bring a stack of your business cards to hand out to new friends so they can email you later.

Bring the charger for your cell phone, camera and film, or digital camera, batteries and charger. A small flashlight, night light, and travel clock are good items to have.

Don't forget your prescription drugs, a small first-aid kit, cream, aspirin, hand cleaning cream, anti-bacterial wipes, sun screen, lip balm and possibly insect repellant. Don't get caught without a corkscrew in your checked luggage. Zip-lock bags are good for laundry and a Swiss Army knife can be handy. (Again, verify with the airline if security regulations allow you to carry these items.) An empty bag for souvenirs is a good idea and don't forget a cap or visor.
