They may give you interesting insights that will help you in choosing the best cruise itinerary and the best cruise ships.

Second, determine how much time you can take for your vacation. Cruise trips normally travel in increments of three to seven days but can last as long as two weeks. Some people find a week too much time to spend aboard a ship while others think three days is too short and really never want to leave. The number of days you spend at sea will, of course, affect the price of your trip so check your budget carefully before making the decision. (Many travel agents suggest that first cruises be kept short so if you hate the experience you're not trapped onboard dying to get home.)

Next consider the time of year you want to go to sea. Although the Caribbean enjoys a warm climate during all the year, temperatures do vary by season. Ask the cruise ship company or the travel agency for a description of the likely weather conditions during the time period you are considering. You may find that the sun may be too strong for you or for someone in your family at given times of the year. Even if you're not a "beach" person you can expect to be out of doors at some point in your cruise even if it's just to take a leisurely stroll on deck.

Look carefully at the ship's itinerary. How many ports of call and shore excursions are included? Are they places in which you are interested? Do you want more time at sea and less on land or the other way around? No one is going to make you get off the boat and go ashore so your primary consideration may be what the ship itself offers. Look at the schedule of onboard activities and the range of amenities you can enjoy all by yourself. In this regard, don't just do your research on the cruise package itself. Look into the reputation of the vessel on which you may be traveling. Many cruise ships have a reputation for a particularly high degree of luxury and if you're going to pamper yourself and you can afford it, you might as well go all the way. (Note that many cruise lines include photographs and virtual tours of their vessels on the company website as well as full descriptions of what the ships have to offer.)

So, if you're excited at the prospect of going on one of those dream Caribbean cruises, stop wasting time and go for it. Cruise packages are not expensive and will give you a travel experience you'll never forget. Take a look at the different cruise reviews pages available on the internet and choose the one that suits you best. You won't regret it.
